Wauwatosa, Wisconsin is a wonderful city located west of Milwaukee. It has two distinct feels depending on what part you are in; a pre-WWII and post-WWII. Wauwatosa has some of the older areas in the Milwaukee. The homes in these areas are well-maintained and extremely popular. It also has a number of areas that were developed in the 1950s and 1960s. These areas provide the suburban feel while being very close the the city.

The city is surrounded by Milwaukee on the east and north, Brookfield and Elm Grove on the west and West Allis on the south. This city has some of the most attractive streets in the MIlwaukee area. It also has plenty of convenient shopping including one of the metropolitan area's most popular shopping malls, Mayfair Mall.

Because of its location, many downtown professionals find Wauwatosa a desirable area. It is close to a freeway that goes downtown and there are a few city streets that making traveling there easy and fast. 2000 census data put its population at 47,271.
